Senior Communication and Content Coordinator
Rebecca joined BehaviourWorks Australia in early 2025 following an extensive career in digital and traditional media across Australia and New Zealand.
Rebecca is a trained journalist, editor, and content and communications specialist. She holds an undergraduate degree with a double major in English Literature and Italian from the University of Auckland, and postgraduate qualifications in journalism from RMIT, Melbourne.
Her career began in multinational advertising agencies in Auckland, where she worked as a senior copywriter crafting campaigns for household brands and organisations. During this time she was awarded for innovating unique ways to impart information to women experiencing domestic violence.
Rebecca transitioned into journalism full time after completion of her postgraduate studies, and in the past decade-plus she has held senior editorial roles in both Australia and New Zealand. Her experience as an editor includes large publishers such as Fairfax, NZME and VICE Media; as well as digital public media platforms and smaller-scale independent magazines.
In 2016, Rebecca moved from Auckland to Melbourne to join VICE Media, where she worked as executive editor. Following this role, she spent some years servicing private clients, assisting them with their content and communications strategies. These included a US-based philanthropic trust, a local gut-health research charity, and an innovative sustainable-food brand based in Tokyo.
Rebecca’s own reportage has focussed on mental health, behavioural psychology and social issues, particularly those that disproportionately affect women. A particular passion is translating complex research for wider and lay audiences, to assist in understanding and awareness.
In 2017, she was awarded the Mental Health Services (MHS) Award for Text Journalism for her work investigating the high suicide rate of women working as nurses in Australia. She was also invited by Beyond Blue to join the organisation’s Creative Services Panel based on her work writing about mental health.
