Research Fellow
Lauren applies a behavioural lens to circular economy challenges, with a particular focus on understanding consumer and user perspectives.
At BehaviourWorks Australia, Lauren is part of the Environment portfolio and works across several waste and circular economy projects. One of her key focuses is mapping behavioural journeys and pinpointing the impact of drivers and barriers at various different stages.
Lauren’s background in the private sector fostered her interest in sustainability challenges that call for new business models paired with shifts in consumer behaviour. Before joining BehaviourWorks Australia, her work as sustainability consultant saw her guide organisations to develop, report and communicate their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy. Previously, as a brand strategist, she fostered a deep understanding of small and medium-sized enterprises, with particular experience working with organisations seeking to drive meaningful industry change through their business models.
Lauren is currently undertaking a PhD at the Monash Sustainable Development Institute. Her research focuses on enabling consumer repair of electrical items to tackle e-waste. The project aims to understand how and when systems limit people from repairing broken household appliances, even if people are motivated to do so.
Lauren holds a Master of Environment and Sustainability and a Bachelor of Business, both from Monash University.
