Hannah Elias

Research Fellow

Hannah is a circular economy specialist with over five years’ experience in material optimisation, strategy and communications, and behaviour change initiatives. She loves to explore complex systems challenges with data, strategy, communication, and a human-centred approach.

Hannah has delivered circular economy research, program management, and advisory services across a wide range of sectors including government, waste, retail, property, food and beverage, and healthcare.

Textiles, food organics, and packaging are Hannah's key areas of interest in addition to experience with a broad range of materials throughout the value chain. Some of Hannah’s past project highlights include co-developing a circular economy strategy for Vicinity Centres, and managing the Kai Keepers food waste movement for New Zealand's hospitality sector. She will be leading our illegal dumping work with Hume and Whittlesea City Councils, and Container Deposit Scheme advisory for Western Australia Return Recycle Renew (WARRRL).

Hannah’s passion for food systems and reducing food waste prompted her to complete a Bachelor of Environmental Management (Hons Sustainable Development) at the University of Queensland. Her research thesis focused on exploring the impacts of climate change on agricultural livelihoods in Sri Lanka.
