The Change Room

The Change Room - where entertainment nudges behavioural science into the spotlight.

Hosted by Geoff Paine, The Change Room is a series of free live events presenting insights and quirky truths from the behavioural sciences. Our goal is simple: to give you a better understanding of why we behave the way we do and how we can do it better.

Introduced in 2016 by BehaviourWorks Australia, The Change Room showcases the latest research in an engaging and interactive way. We don't promise any magic bullets, but we do promise science, evidence and storytelling at its best.

Our next event is on May 15, called Book'ed again (and loving it).  With Australians reading less - and spending more time on screens like, er, this one - Australia Reads recently commissioned BehaviourWorks Australia to find out why. We'll meet the six different types of readers our team identified in their research and discuss some strategies to encourage more reading (hint: find your comfortable reading spot and relax).

Whether you're Avid, Engaged, Ambivalent, Aspirational, Lapsed or Uninterested, you have a story to tell and we have findings to share about the reading journey (there are five distinct parts).

Join us as we delve into Aussie reading habits and ideas for reading even more.

Not sure what to expect? Here's a teaser from our last show to give you a taste of what we're all about:

It was an amazing show that made me reflect on how myself describe and engage with nature. Nature is not 10 kilometers away, it can be in your backyard or anywhere around you, slow down, observe and connect with it.
